Re: RSP2 and Weather Balloon Tracking and Data Reception - NOAA SkySonde
Oh, I just found the German rs1729/RS project, looks interesting. Yes, that's it at: https://github.com/rs1729/RS ... and I use the LMS6 portion under that. There are two scripts that I patched together from bits of many other people's work and Google searches to take the output from the LMS6 decod...

Re: RSP2 and Weather Balloon Tracking and Data Reception - NOAA SkySonde
Thanks for the reply! I do have the open source decoding software for the LMS-6 and that gives me lat / lon / alt, but of course it would be fun to see the weather instrument telemetry as well. I've looked at the raw packets and can match up the hex bytes corresponding to all the known data, but the...

Thank you for the very interesting post!
By chance is there any similar software available to decode the LMS-6 400 MHz radiosondes?

Re: v3.9.1 Tuner AGC function moved to the API??
Hello again! I believe that I am at peace now with the latest API & ExtIO updates. Thank you for your offer to review HDSDR settings; I don't believe that I need any further assistance at the moment. The two issues in HDSDR that were a significant negative for me were: -frequency trim not working (a...

Re: v3.9.1 Tuner AGC function moved to the API??
Thank you so much for the reply! When I am at that computer again, I certainly will reproduce the issue and capture screen shots. But in short, with the API & ExtIO updates, on the ExtIO screen, if you check to enable tuner AGC, the level slider (and effective gain level) stays at the top of the dis...

v3.9.1 Tuner AGC function moved to the API??
After installing v3.9.1, I noticed that the Tuner AGC on the ExtIO screen was no longer functional. I assume that this is communicated in the highlight notes as: "Tuner AGC function moved to the API" ... since I use HDSDR, am I correct to assume that this effectively disables Tuner AGC for me? I mos...

EXTIO plugin 3.9 decimation of the sample rate?
I would be most grateful for an explanation of the usefulness of "Decimation of the Sample Rate".
For example, what is the difference between setting a 8MHz Sample Rate with a "2" decimation -vs- simply setting a 4MHz Sample Rate?
Thanks very much!

EXTIO plugin 3.9.1 loss of Frequency Trim?
Greetings!
After installing the 1.94 API and 3.9.1 ExtIO, the "Frequency Trim (ppm)" on the ExtIO screen no longer seems to have any effect.
Am I overlooking something that I should be doing differently?

Can you query serial # from device?
Hello to everyone.
The label on my SDRPlay has faded or been rubbed one time too many. Is there a way to obtain the serial # electronically?
If not, how about from previous SDRPLAY.COM registrations?
Thanks!

Re: PC (laptop) power induces significant noise
I noticed the same thing some time ago when unplugging the power cord from my Dell laptop.
I put a couple of snap-on ferrites on the cable between the transformer & the laptop and the noise disappeared.
