Re: Your MFJ-1708B-T/R Switch Experiences

First of all the inside of the RSP1A is sprayed with a metal paint as many reviews have pointed out, also they state it's effective. I have ordered the MFJ1708B myself, but currently I'm running the Icom 7300 with an Acom 1010 pretty close to it, it's not disconnected from my Inverted-L 160m antenna...

Re: 60v p-p rf

60Vpp = 10Wpeak!!

That is a lot, how close are the AM-stations? You must be about right under their antenna.

Are you sure this is all coming from the antenna? And not between antenna and grounding or such.

Re: MFJ-1708 Connection Questions

Well to mute the RSP1A on TX is quite simple.
Just use the AUX-relay to disconnect the speaker/line whatever sound output/speakers you use and make it disconnect.
Then the audio is gone.

Re: MFJ-1708 Connection Questions

CTRL is the input that you connect to your TX-control of the Tranceiver, the same as you set your amplifier in Tx mode. The AUX is just a relay that can be used to trigger other devices, it has 2 settings. See page 4 of the manual, the AUX is set to NO or NC depending on jumper1. In short, CTRL is t...

Re: Sorry .... SDRPlay & GNURADIO again ......

I gave up on GNU-Radio, never got it working properly. Not with the RSP1A and not with Dongles. There is far better software around then that. However I'm running websdr.org with modified drivers, totally different animal  Why do you want GNU-Radio? It's the most difficult program I have ever s...

Re: Sample Rate issue over 8 value

What Frequency are we talking about? Also did you set the MW notches? If you didn't high output radiostations between 200-1800KHz can and will hinder all other bands and causing spikes. You may want to reduce the span to about 1000KHz especially on low bands as you open all filters including 0-2 MHz...

Re: Transmit-receive switches

If it's just a 7300 and using it's own antenna, why not connect a NoElec upconverter between them? It will give extra protection. The switch, I ordered the B version only helps if you want to use the same RX/TX antenna. If your TX antenna is a few meters away and the output is just 100W, nothing wil...

Re: Mains noise

The first solution everybody should do is a common-mode-choke. In short this is preventing that the outside of the coax/cable works like an antenna. Most easy and cheap way to remove this is a big plastic bottle and wind coax around it, 20 turns or so and the effect is gone. Naturally you do this at...

Re: THIS THREAD EXPLAINS WHY IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND RECEIVER'S SENSITIVITY IN LF & RELATED MATTERS

Hi Glovisol, Well I use the RSP1A's just for people that have no receivers themselves or no place to put antenna's, so they can run my receivers remote. My own transceiver is an Icom 7300 that covers 0-72MHz with better numbers :D Do not get me wrong, I love these RSP's but I use them for other peop...
