Re: TINY homemade UHF ant. WORKS
That's about the right length for ~450 MHz, but those little stubs aren't going to have much effect either way. I see you have nothing attached to the braid of the coax, so the antenna will not be working at its best. You need to make another two 6-inch lengths of wire and solder them onto the braid...

Heinrich
The early SRP's used an F-type connector. I bought my SRP early on and it was in a blue & white case with an F connector for the antenna. I actually prefer it as it is far less fiddly than the SMA type!

Re: S meter adjustment ?
Main panel (the one with the 'play' button) > SETT (button in top of frame) > CAL.
Most people find the meter reads too high and a setting of -15 to -20 is about right.

Re: Signal mirrors all over the band.
Have you tried choosing another converter LO setting? If these FM stations won't go away no matter what you do, an outboard FM rejector is the only answer.

The LNA and AGC buttons can be found in the 'main' window (the one that has the PLAY button). The gain slider is also in there.

Re: AM broadcast stations on evry band to 30 MHz?!
I wonder if your SDR is overloading due to strong signals on MW(AM)? Try turning off the LNA and the AGC, then adjust the gain with the slider. Failing that, an outboard filter which rolls off sharply below 1.8 MHz should do it.

Re: Where to get SMA Adapters that are 50 Ohm 2GHz? Do they exist?
The difference between 50r and 75r is tiny and doesn't matter at all on RX. I use 75-ohm satellite cable for most of my receive system because it is cheap, low loss and easy to work with.

Re: RA0SMS Miniwhip bad performance on SDRPlay
Have you tried some basic fault-finding, such as checking whether the supply voltage is reaching the unit?

Re: What is on everyone's SDRplay V2.0 wish list?
The only one that springs to mind is much-improved front-end filtering. The images of FM and DAB that 'get in the way' are numerous, wspecially around the 250 MHz satellite band. External filters can get around this, but it's messy. Some tight up-front filters would be most welcome. Oh, and two sepa...
Re: Airband
I have no images, but very low signal on airband. Im using a Airband vertical antenna 5/8. On my single RTL, the airband signal is great, bur on sdr-play is poor. That's strange. I listen to airband occasionally and find the RSP just as good as my AR5001d receiver, in fact it can be better as I can...
