Re: AM and FM Band Reject Filters
Hi Bill, I had the same problem here. My solution was to use an 125MHz upconverter as it looks like the very low frequencies tend to puckup AC from solarpanels and it's near to impossible to get rid of them. I use this: https://www.nooelec.com/store/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/1200x/040ec09b...

Re: LAN sever setup of RSP1a
Most simple way is to install: https://sdr.hu/openwebrx I also believe they have a way to connect to the RSP1A with SoapySDR. Typical it can handle about 2-4 users at the same time. However, the Pi4 and Asus Tinkerboard may be too light to handle it, you have to try and find out. As for putting it o...

Re: Best antenna no good signals?
Hi Phil, I have just one remark about 2006....in 2006 there where very good conditions on practically any band. At the same time anything would work, even a pencil plugged into a tuner. Today is a total different story and many of the so called "improved" antenna's don't work. I really don't w...

Re: Best antenna no good signals?
Good idea Bas. A bit more info here on the G5RV and a lesser known but definite contender which is also slightly shorter and is no less a performer which is a bit of a surprise, the ZS6BKW PDF: https://www.w5ddl.org/files/Zs6bkw_vs_G5rv_20100221b.pdf Hi Phil, The ZS6BKW isn't nearly as good as the ...

Re: Best antenna no good signals?
G5RV or a Longwire, both very cheap and very very good. But you need to property to put them up. G5RV is just 2 pieces of wire of 17~18 meters, 11m ladderline a cola-bottle and some coax. That is all there is to it. Or you put 2x20m wire up in the air and feed your box with ladderline directly. Ante...

Re: Best antenna no good signals?
My mission in life is to convince the world that end fed wires are absolutely horrible and that anyone who has one who can find a second remote mounting point to create any shape or size of horizontal delta should build one immediately ;-) Same here. But they are not End-Fed, just sold as such. As ...

Re: Sample rate and buffering samples retrieved
Weird is that your link shows a comment like this: For example, if you double the sample rate, an equivalent filter will require four times as many operations to implement. This is because both amount of data (per second) and the length of the filter increase by two, so convolution goes up by four. ...

Re: Best antenna no good signals?
An antenna depends on the frequencies you want to receive. There is no simple solution to receive all bands. For HF it means a very long wire and some counter point, then it will work. You may want to read this, it will get you going: https://www.sdrplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/NewcomersGuide...

Re: Parting thoughts
Nobody is forced to read other people's replies. You can choose to simply ignore them and move on. On every forum in the world there will be people that post stuff that other don't like. Walk the dog, ignore it and be happy is my way. In the end you are just reading a screen and you do not know who ...
