Re: Filter Selection
Hello again Paul, I can confirm that the LO setting is used to determine which of the RF filters is selected. A 1 Hz resolution is used, so 11.999999 MHz setting will select the 0-12 MHz filter and 12 MHz will select the 12-30 MHz filter. Incidentally, when developing the new API, we also found a bu...

Re: HF pre-selector
Dear Captain Nemo, The pre-selection that segments the lower end of the HF spectrum into 0-12 MHz and 12-30 MHz, will certainly help prevent the front end from overloading. Adding more pre-selection filters for the more of the individual amateur bands is of questionable value though as one key featu...

Re: Filter Selection
Hello Paul, That is a very interesting question and to answer it with certainty I would have to check with the guy that defined the spec for the API. Unfortunately, he is away on vacation until next week, so please bear with me. What I think will occur is that if the LO is set to below 12 MHz, then ...
Re: sdrplay
Dear Leon, Different people have different views as to which of these SDR packages is superior. We don't have a strong opinion ourselves, but it seems that on balance the majority seem to have a preference for HDSDR over SDR sharp. For the more experienced user, SDR Console appears to be very popula...

Re: Can I ask a stupid question?
Hi m0phe, The RSP doesn't have continuously variable gain. It uses an all digital gain adjustment scheme that allows the gain to be changed in 1 dB steps. You certainly can adjust the gain manually if you don't want to use AGC. To do this, open up the ExtIO window in SDR sharp and uncheck the AGC bo...

Re: SDRPlay TCXO?
I think we will have to investigate this further. It will take us a little while as our apps engineer is away on vacation until the end of this month.
Please bear with us whilst we look into this a bit deeper.

Re: SDRPlay TCXO?
It is not really clear what might be going on here. If you have not already done so, try ensuring that the reference signal that you are using to trim the frequency error is centred on the receiver bandwidth and that you are not selecting it with a VFO. That way, you know that the displayed frequenc...
