Re: GQRX or HDSDR
I use HDSDR for HF and SDRSharp v1361 for VHF & UHF. HDSDR is very resource friendly and easy to use. With the newest beta release, it adds some very handy features which are not present in other programs such as auto band zooming, band stacking registers, etc. I've tried pretty much every available...

Re: User Experience

Re: Using your SDRPlay RSPx as a Spectrum Analyzer for testing
With that version of SDR# getting a bit long in the tooth and all the improvements to SDRuno and other compatible software, is there any reason to use that old version of SDR# in 2019? Can SDR# do anything the others can't? Yes, there is good reason IMO to use this older version of SDR# for this. F...

Ralf, I'm sure that you've already thought of this (and I don't know much about it) but can you run SDRUno on the Mac under an emulator? Isn't there something called Parallels or some such which does that? Not sure about performance though.....

Re: Settings for HF
Best HF settings which I've found: 1) IF AGC OFF - Adjust it manually. Gain at about 1/2 seems best on most HF bands. Lower yet for MWBC band. 2) LOW IF for most HF purposes. No center spike to deal with, less gargbage. But there have been situations here when Zero IF worked a bit better. But 98% of...
