Re: RSP2 Pro HF reception question

I have no idea for your problem, but I can say that the RSP sensitivity on HF is at least as good as the TS590SG. What antenna are you using on HF? I connect the RSP to the DRV output of the TS590SG which I configured as RX output, so the RSP and the TS590SG are basically connected to the same anten...

Re: Can you use the SDRPlay2 as a pan adapter?

I don't know the details of the TX mixer string in the 870, but the 850 string has inverted spectrum in the 8.83 MHz IF. It's not a great drama, you just have to remember that signals below CF displayed by the RSP are actually above CF at RF, and that on SSB the demodulation sense is inverted, e.g....

Re: Thread for gr-osmosdr and GNURadio problems/ideas

What is your platform? I have the RSP1A running in GRC with Ubuntu 16.04 right now. It's an old flow graph I built for the RSP1 but it is still working with the RSP1A. Gnuradio and osmosdr are built from source. I am using the osmocom source with the properties below: Screenshot_20171230_151056.png ...

Re: SoapySDR build failure

ldd /usr/local/bin/SoapySDRUtil should show what the exact location and name are where SoapySDRUtil expects the library. On my system it gives: ldd /usr/local/bin/SoapySDRUtil linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007ffe7d5b6000) libSoapySDR.so.0.6-dev => /usr/local/lib/libSoapySDR.so.0.6-dev (0x00007f2b2708d000)...

Re: RSP1A: wobbling spurs around 2.335MHz * n

Just for laughs I show my Hammy Hambone solution for the spur in the 40m band. It's a 47 Ohms 1206 SMD resistor connected to 5V and glued to the offending chip. The ~0.5 W dissipation creates enough heat to move the spur down to 6.92 MHz. Merry Christmas and a happy new year! 2017-12-23_14-06-20_v1....

Re: Thread for gr-osmosdr and GNURadio problems/ideas

I am running gqrx with RSP1(A) via the soapy drivers without problems. I was playing with gnuradio some time ago and I also used the soapy via gr-osmosdr without problems. I can check this next week after Christmas when I have some spare time. I found the direct sdrplay support in my gr-osmosdr buil...

Re: RSP1A: wobbling spurs around 2.335MHz * n

Just tried your websdr on my smart phone (since I'm at work and company firewall blocks non standard ports) and it worked fine. Heard a EA7 station on 40m SSB. Nice!

Re: RSP1A: wobbling spurs around 2.335MHz * n

The switches have a shut down mode, but unfortunately the number 1 chip is always in the signal path, also in the HF band (I traced a 1 MHz signal), so that does not help. I found the spur less prominent when I set front end gain to maximum and IF gain to minimum, but can't say how this influences l...

Re: RSP1A: wobbling spurs around 2.335MHz * n

I opened my new RSP1A and treated components with cold spray. I identified the circled components as the probable culprits for the 3 spurs (frequency of spur jumps up when component cooled) with number 1 being the worst (about 10dB stronger than the others and fundamental > 30dB above noise floor) a...

RSP1A: wobbling spurs around 2.335MHz * n

I am a lucky RSP1 user but now wanted to try the RSP1A. I swapped the RSP1 with the RSP1A in my installation. The RSP1A seemed to work fine. But I detected a wobbly (unstable) spur in the 7MHz amateur band which is not present with the RSP1. Tuning through the HF band, I found the fundamental freque...
