Re: Antennas for City Dwellers

Hi Owen, look here, just new experience! https://www.sdrplay.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4698&start=30 You will have to go & read it all and go to the last posts. Should be the antenna for you...costs probably 80 cents. Hope this helps! Spent 6 months at W. Augusta Boulevard, Motorola, back in...

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna

Phil,

It is really rewarding to have around a guy like you. Nothing can substitute experience and your experience in antennas is a great gift to all of our Community Forum. Will surely pester you in August, when I come back. looking forward to setting up this giant square!

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna

Paul, I will be very glad to hear about your experience with this simple antenna. The only important thing for success must be elevation and in this my setup is OK, because I am three storeys high, or up about 16 m. Superior performance is with the antenna in horizontal position. In vertical positio...

Re: GETTING READY FOR RSPduo DIVERSITY SOFTWARE

THE DIVERSITY AGE HAS ARRIVED! Figure 4 shows RSPduo Diversity on left laptop and control RSP-1A in operation on right laptop. Figure 5 shows the antenna interconnections. To minimize PC generated interference, the RSP's are remoted. Finally Figure 6 shows a -117 dBm signal (invisible on the displa...

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna

A little later... Now, if a loop 0.81 square meters can give me this result, it is mind boggling to imagine what I will get with the 50 m side square loop (i.e. 2500 square meters I can set up in August, when I get back home. The important point is, we are on a solid rock foundation of theory here, ...

Re: Front end protection during thunderstorm?

Hi Mike, Did you have an isolation transformer between the 50 Ohm input and the antenna? I doubt it. The best protection against surges and the best safeguard against common mode noise is a small low noise ferrite transformer you can make with a few cents worth of materials and 15 minutes of your ti...

Re: LW-MW-SW Relay Tuned 15' Noise Reducing Vertical Antenna

Hi Phil, I AM SIMPLY AMAZED!! I have been following your exchange with Sdrom33 on loop antennas and I was (I must confess) a little skeptical and suspicious of your stories about miracles of loop antennas, so, in want of anything better to do, being at the sea side in Sardinia, in a flat at the 3rd ...

In all fairness, I hate to leave loose ends. My feeling is that I have honestly and painstakingly contributed to this thread to the best of my abilities and I do not accept that Forum members publicly declare this thread "toxic" because some contributors and myself have dared to contradict them on p...

Re: GETTING READY FOR RSPduo DIVERSITY SOFTWARE

THE DIVERSITY AGE HAS ARRIVED! Knowing the release of the new Diversity software for the RSPduo was imminent, I tried my best to be ready for the happening. SDRuno Ver. 1.32 provides the facility of Diversity by operating the two Tuners of the RSPduo simoultaneously on the two coaxial 50 Ohm inputs...
