Hi Mr. Paul, as far as I can see the S meter DOES NOT NEED TO BE CALIBRATED at all: in my RSPduo and even in my previous RSP2pro the meters show EXCELLENT & STABLE calibration to the dBm table!
Kinds regards,

Re: Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator
Hi Phil, Glad that Tech Support put the decimation issue to bed. As I wrote you yesterday, I was initially very curious about it, and tried to discover differences in sensitivity, while with very weak signals from a short antenna, but did not discover any. Now I understand...in order to kill leakage...

Re: Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator
Hi Phil, You made me recall my first transistor: a Rayteon CK 722 in 1956.....blown up because of polarity inversion after a few minutes' experimentation.... - Please explain what you mean by signal leakage. - Interesting article on decimation effects. To tell you the truth I started checking for de...

Re: Sdrplay rsp1a frequency calibration in uk
Dear MrPaul,
You should set the receiver in CW, as shown on the uploaded PC screen.
Cheers,

Re: Sdrplay rsp1a frequency calibration in uk
Yes, you can calibrate on the standard 9,996 KHz signal. It gives a tick on every second, two ticks on 30 seconds and silence + 2 ticks on the minute. This time signal is sincronized to the German Mainflingen station at 77.5 KHz: DCF77, which can be used as well. Also in U.K, in Anthorn, Cumbria, yo...

Re: Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator
Hi Phil, Thanks for your message and for the PC screens, which show the really clean spectrum devoid of self generated interference offered by these RSP receivers. What is amazing to an old timer like me (I was active in the fifties of last century as I1LOV) is that with the RSP 1A or the RSPduo you...

Re: Testing RSPduo receiver sensitivity with noise generator
Hi someYguy,
Please post your results (the FT-817 as well) as it would be very interesting to compare all measurements!
