Don't put the miniwhip on Hi-Z if it's designed for VHF or higher because the Hi-Z input is designed for 30Mhz and lower. It would make more sense to put the sloper on Hi-Z, but you have to make sure it's matched for Hi-Z. The Discone, I would assume is also a VHF-UHF antenna, so it can be on A or B.

The LO frequency is set at the point of the main waterfall where your cursor lies when you click Play. To change it, put your cursor in a different spot before you push play.

Martin makes a good point. They don't use up much resources, so download and try them all. Some take a little more playing around with to get the results you want and some do some things better than others, but experimenting is part of this technical hobby. - Daniel, W2DLC

Can anyone relate their experience with one of the metal cases on sale out there for the SDR1? Does it really help?

Also, there are places in the Main settings INPUT and CAL tabs to adjust the LO.
