HPSDR and sdr play rsp2 pro

Postby jonrsp2pro » Sat Sep 23, 2017 2:28 am

Have the rsp2pro and would love to use the HPSDR open source version of power sdr. Seems to be developed for the Anan radios. Has anyone got it working with the play products?
Tried SDRUNO and just do not like it. So use HDSDR most of the time linked to my Ten Tec Orion.
To be able to use Power SDR would be a step up IMHO, Had a Flex 5000a and PowerSDR was great and easy to use. I think HPSDR is even above it in the noise blanking and NR department. With rsp2 3 antennas the diversity feature should also work with it.
Thoughts?

Downloading PowerSDR to try it our now.

On another note, when I started SDRUno, I too hated it. See my comments and posts from less than two months ago. Now, i love it.

it kept doing this for an hour

Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 16385
Planning COMPLEX FORWARD FFT size 32768
Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 32768
Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 32769
Planning COMPLEX FORWARD FFT size 65536
Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 65536
Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 65537
Planning COMPLEX FORWARD FFT size 131072
Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 131072
Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 131073
Planning COMPLEX FORWARD FFT size 262144
Planning COMPLEX BACKWARD FFT size 262144

so i cancelled it.

on second attempt it opened up. So, it looks like its specific to certain hardware as those settings come embedded. Also, the software looks like it was designed for a specific purpose - that of running the hardware manufacturer's specific hardware. Perhaps one can get it to work with RSP and other SDRs but as far as functions and features go, I like the ones with better graphics like HDSDR and SDRUNO. SDR Sharp is also good. But HPSDR looks like using the settings on an oscilloscope to tune a radio. Perhaps if I had those hardware, it would be a blast to play with with HPSDR.
