Ideas for future Updates

I really like SDRuno with my RSP2pro. I like the layout of the software and how it is designed especially for the RSP series. But in my opinion, there are some basic features missing.
1.) It would be great to have a feature that marks the frequency on the spectrum display from your stored frequency entries.
2.) A customizable band plan like the one in Sdr# would be good because then you can exactly see in what meter band/ ham band you are right now.
3.) There are buttons for the ham bands in SdrUno. Is there going to be a way to customize these preset bands?

I would be very happy if you could add these features in a future update. Otherwise i am very happy with my RSP2. It beats my Alinco DX-R8 which is almost double the price.

Thank you for your feedback. We are working hard on the next release of SDRuno, whilst I don't have any specific details I can give you right now, I can say that we are making much better use of the keypad in this next release.

I'd just like to repeat my plea for separate MHz & KHz buttons. Entering everything as KHz is very confusing, especially when you get to VHF and above! So to be able to enter (say) 60 KHz using the KHz key and 456.123 MHz using the MHz key would be a Godsend. My Signal Hound uses this method - you simply enter the required digits and finish with K or M as appropriate. Thankyou!

And of course the old chestnut of all windows being re-sizeable.

Finally, have you given any thought to providing a 'quick start' mode for new users? Newcomers to the RSP and Uno complain of being thrown when they are confronted by the initial tiny MAIN window. Would there be a way of initially providing a 'ready to go' single receiver with basic features that allows them to use their new toy without the delay and frustration of fiddling about with all those separate panels and then wondering how to save them? I know it's a case of RTFM, but the Uno manual is not the clearest literature in the world. Sorry to go on.

We are working on a number of features for the next release and also the one after. Being able to specify MHz in the input frequency will be in the next release and we're looking at improving the workspace saving function and also how the windows fill the screen. Unfortunately the main window or the RX control windows will not be re-sizeable but we've got some ideas on how to improve the usability based on a lot of great feedback from the community.

Best regards,

I believe the ability to scan stored frequencies is in the pipeline, hence the "Scan" flag but what's really lacking for me is the ability to scan a range just like Vasili's plugin for SDR#

When these kind of features are added I think I'll truly be making perfect use of my RSP2 Pro :)

As a retired physics teacher, can I say that I cringe every time I see that a value which needs a unit has been written without its unit. E.g. a distance shown as ‘214’ or a frequency shown as 7.286.500. There are very good reasons for always including the unit!

Can I suggest that for frequencies (in SDRuno) the unit is always displayed?

The frequency could contain 2 separate fields - a value field and a unit field. For example the unit could then be selectable using a drop-down list offering a choice of Hz, kHz, MHz or GHz. Changing the unit would need to automatically change the value.

Cheers.

I bought my RSP1 about a week ago. So far, my 2 software suggestions are
1. When clicking on a Ham band, I would prefer that it starts at the center of the band instead of at the lower edge as it does now.
2. During listening sessions I need some settings windows open to change between Low-IF and Zero-IF depending on the band, also adjust sliders for Spectrum Base and Spectrum Range it would be nice if those windows were included in the Workspace feature so that I don't have to manually open them every time.

The RSP2 does not have independent antenna gain reduction settings. If one Antenna's gain is changed, the setting is transferred to the other two antenna choices. A real and unnecessary nuisance.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned separate tuning increments per mode (ie., AM, SSB, CW, FM, etc.). Very VERY desirable.

I'll go ahead and throw my earlier suggestion into the mix...

It would be nice if the SDRuno software could be opened without the SDRplay attached, in order to open and play saved RF WAV files recorded previously.

Many times I will record wide swaths of bandwidth when identifying signals. Then when away from my radio desk, I would be able to open up the recorded files on a notebook computer to play and re-play the files to identify the parallel signals.

Thanks for the great product and software!
