I/Q out question

RSP1A on the IF of yaesu FT-950. I'm trying to use cw skimmer but whenever I click on I/Q out it puts the sdr and the rig into FM mode... Is there any way to keep the rig in CW ? I know this is a newer feature and it may not work the way I am trying to make it work... Any one?

Ok, I will update here.... I found my mistake . In the rx control pane, SETT->ORIG->SYNC RX MODE.
unchecked that box and off we go.
