SDR Play with HDSDR and HF Transceiver

Hi

I have interfaced SDR Play via Omnirig with my FTDX 1200
I am using an MFJ1708 Antenna Switch so I can use one antenna for both RX on SDR Play and TX on the FTDX1200.
The SDR Play and the 1200 talk to one another OK, I Can change frequency on one and it changes the other one at the same time.
The MFJ1708 receives on the SDR Play, when I hit the PTT on the 1200 it isolates the SDR Play and switches the Antenna to the 1200.

The problem I have is how to mute the audio on the SDR Play when I TX, I know it can be done but I can't find out how to set it up to do this automatically.

Can anyone help here ?

I see this post is old but i will answer it for any one interested ....I use the Elad Switch ASW-1 you run your audio out from your computer in to the elad then back to your speakers when you key up it cuts your audio off till you un key and of course it disconnect your sdr when your transmitting .....Some newer radio will mute the audio when you key up when using omnirig mine does not so the Elad ASW=1 work great ............

Hi Lauchlin,

I looked at the Elad but the 1708 got a better review so I went for that, possibly a mistake.
The1708 has a socket that switches to ground when I press the PTT so I connected a relay to it to switch of the audio on TX and it works OK.
However I am not getting full use of the FTDX1200, only using it to TX. so I am going to go down the road of installing an IF Tap usign a PAT50B Board by hupRF, that is if I can get someone more knowledgeable and handier with a soldering iron to assist.

IF Tap ...........Is the way to go i am using a Ten Tec orion taping the IF is a pain good luck with your project........
