Twitter rumour doing the rounds that there's a new version soon, one that has no gaps. Is this true or just another piece of fan hysteria?

Not a new version as such. We are looking at the possibility of an upgrade to the API that would remove the 'gap'. This is still 'work in progress', so we can't make any specific promises at this point.
