This is not particularly about SDRPlay RSP's, but about audiorecording using "Audacity."
I use dual function bluetooth stereo headphone/hands-free headset.
Audcity appears to requirrre that both input and outputtttt devices are the same - at least it does work that way.
Until recently , I was able to do just that - using the stereo headphone function (headset never did).
Now however, probably after a recent Windows 10 update Stereo Headphone is only identified by Windows as an output device and only the Headset-Hands free as an input device - this does not work.
I have tested other recording apps with the same result.
If anyone has a suggestion to get around this, I would be most grateful - it's ruined what I found a most useful app.

A recent Windows10 v1803 update was installed a few days ago. After installation some of my audio settings were set to their default values.

Probably as I feared.
Rather nervous about rolling back V1803 (mine was instlleded more than 10 days ago - the magic figure) and Haven't yet found a way around this otherwise yet.

After the update my PC had the default recording device set to microphone. I had set it previously to Stereo Mix.

Rolling back your system shouldn't be necessary. Check your audio playback and record settings first.
To access the Sound control panel:
right click on the Speaker Icon.
Select "Open Sound Settings"
When the sound settings window opens, select Sound Control Panel
Select the Recording tab
Right click in the Recording window and enable "Show disabled devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices". This will show all recording devices installed.
Select the desired recording device and set it as the default - If the device is disabled it will need to be enabled first in the properties window of the device

This is for windows7 but the procedure in windows10 is similar

Windows WASAPI & Stereo headphone loopback in Audacity (found in the link that you provided0) has solved the problem.
