Cubic And Term "Modem" ?

Hello,

Using unit on a iMac with Cubic.

The documentation and the screen shows the term "Modem".

What is the meaning of, as the Cubic folks use it, of "Modem" ?
Significance, etc. ?

I believe that is the frequency you are demodulating. In rigs or in our software (SDRuno) they are referred to as VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator)
