Two questions:
Does anyone know the difference between the 1708 and the 1708B?
Are there any other similar devices on the market?

The difference between the MFJ 1708SDR and 1708BSDR is outlined in the ad below. The B is worth the extra money because it has many improvements including wider frequency range, addition of a hybrid port splitter and better receiver isolation.
