SDRplay Receiver access via EtherNet LAN ?

Would this device allow an SDRplay Receiver to be remotely located, at some distance from a user's PC, and accessed via an EtherNet Local Area Network ?

I don't understand.

From what I read in the device's description it provides for a USB 2.0 interface and pipes it into a GigaBit EtherNet.

Please explain - What's too slow ?

Hi WG5AGF,

I too am interested in remoting the RSP receiver. At present I operate with a 35 m length of amplified USB cables with no problem, after having discussed this matter in the following threads that also might be of help::

The device you are proposing looks very promising, but it is also quite expensive to buy in the dark. One problem that could be envisaged is the combination UE204/cable radiating interference and noise which could be picked up by the antenna. If you do decide to try it, please publish your results on this thread

Question 1: Why use USB?

Question 2: Why not use coax to bring the signal to the receiver? I'm doing that, works great.

Sorry to say, but I fail to see the need to extend USB via CAT5 when it can be done with coax.

If you use a common-mode-choke at the end of the coax at the antenna connection it will not pickup any rubbish from elsewhere but received from the antenna.
To make such is simple, google for common-mode-choke, plenty examples to be found, depending on the band(s) in use.
