RSPDuo overload warning Help needed.

Post by vk2icj » Fri Jul 05, 2019 10:17 am

G'Day

I'm new to SDR's so take that on board.

I'm wanting to use my Kenwood TS870 and my RSPDuo as a panadapter. I'm using the EXT RX ANT Jack (on the back of the 870)which is supposed to go to ground when in TX. I have a RX Guard by DX engineering between the Rig and my RSPDuo (just for added safety). I tired to tx a few dits and then went full tilt with a couple of words and I noticed my SDRUno software came up with the Overload Warning. I assume there is some RF getting in through the coax I have hooked up to the RSPDuo or that my EXT ANT Jack is putting out some RF. Is there any settings since I'm using omnirig in the middle that when I TX (I'm CW only btw) it disconnects the antennas on the RSPDuo?

ADC Overload means the ADC is getting too much signal. That doesn't mean you will fry the input of the RSP. As long as the signal doesn't exceed the safe range the RSP is fine. +10 dBm (10mW) for short durations and 0 dBm (1mW) continuous.

Reason: No reason
