connect RSP1A to IF ?

I have a Yaesu FT-2000 with an IF-2000 interface board which gives me an 10.55mhz IF signal. I like the simplicity of connecting RSP1A to the FT-2000 in/out connectors with a splitter but I am wondering if there is any performance advantage by connecting to the 10.55mhz IF signal ?
