RSP2 & NooElec 9:1 mini Balun
RSP2 & NooElec 9:1 mini Balun
1) The connections from all antennas to the RSP2 & associated filtering peripherals is all coaxial cable.
2) I would like to take advantage of the LF capability of the RSP2 Port C.
3) NooElec.com sells a nifty miniature RF, 1:9 Antenna Balun, with two clamp terminals on one end, to insert pigtails.
4) This Antenna Balun assembly has an SMA, gold-plated female jack on the other end.
5) With a suitable dipole, unbalanced antenna, can the NooElec balun be used such that the SMA is
poking out of the cabinet, able to accept an antenna connector, with the clamp connections inside
the cabinet, and jumpered to the connections the green-colored Hi-Z Berg block uses?
Thank you for your help.

Hi
If you should be inclined to follow the link below to the SDRPlay Facebook forum, there is a very thorough guide to the use of the Nooelec 1:9 mini-balun (by Roger Need):

The freq. range stated by Noo is 160 to 6 meters, so it's probably not the best choice for LW and VLF. It consists of a binocular core transformer, a resistor and a varistor. Noo has a schematic and a couple network analyzer sweeps in downloads section
