Poor ADSB performance with RSP1A

Post by gleven » Mon Apr 08, 2019 9:08 pm

I own an RSP1A and i wanted to test it with ADSB programs to see if i will get any improvement.
I currently have an existing setup with an RTL-SDR V3 dongle and i normally receive 30-50 planes with a message rate of 1500-2500 m/s.
The problem is that i wanted to replace the RTL-SDR dongle with the RSP1A but the dump1090 program the is available for downloading from the site is based on an older version of dump1090-mutability (which is no longer maintained).
After replacing the dongle with the RSP1A, i get roughly the same number of planes but with message rates around 300-500 max.
Tried all the options available, but nothing makes any difference. Also the --enable-biasT switch seems to do nothing at all.
Tried SoapySDR but could not find a way to make it work with dump1090.

Is there any one who has seen a significant improvement with RSP1A?

P.S. I'm using an RPI 3 with 2.13 API (also tried 2.11).
