I like listen to short wave on my SDR with a wire antenna. heres the thing my radio is on the second flood and to get a wire to the ground rod it must pass across a room (20 feet) then put the windown then down about 20 more feet. I do have a whole bunch of extra coax that I found some where. Is it ok to just run a wire this long distance to the ground rod? Thats like a 40+ foot length and I'm afraid it will become a noisy antenna. I could hook the center of a coax cable to the ground, run it into the house across the room and then ground my radio with it. Over kill or a good use of this huge pile of coax I have?
