Hi guys, I'm thinking about a mini active whip, they seem a great compact idea while on vacation or in apartments, assuming a good earth that is, theres a few on the bay about £30 cleanly built, some just need an enclosure for half that, with and without psu, thing is they all seem to be 10-15 volts, the rsp2 b socket is 5v though, also if coax sockets a and b are really for only above 1.5mhz, how would it be best to hook these up if a long run of coax is needed 50m say, for the low frequency stuff

Hi Wireman. I woudn't use either of the SMA sockets for low frequency stuff, simple as that. SDRPlay recommend the Hi-z input should be used for frequencies below 1.5 MHz, and by the time you get down to LW it is the only input worth using, as the SMA's give awful noise and overloading effects. Keep the SMA's for VHF and UHF, they work great up there.
