WIN 10 can't detect SDRPLAY since firmwareupdate

Post by 12345 » Sat Mar 16, 2019 11:34 pm

Hi There,

I had problems with Win detecting the SDRPLAY when connect to the USB port. In 3 out of 10 times my computer acknowledged this with the typical "new hardware found" jingle. The other 7 times it just remains silent and SDRuno says "no device found".
However since i updated the Firmware of the SDR Windows couldn't detect it one single time. On my Raspberry PI it works fine though.
Any advice?

In the Win10 desktop at the leftmost side of the taskbar right click on the Win10 icon, it should bring up a list. click search. In the search box type "services" w/o the quotes. a new window should open listing all the services on the machine, it will show their status and other info. Go down the list, looking for "SDRPLay API Service". It's status should be shown as running. If it's status is stopped try rebooting, check its status again. If it's not listed then the last install you did probably failed.

Suggestions:
If this is an older computer make sure the USB cable fits snugly in the USB port at the computer end. Check for debris in the port, blow it out with some canned air. And/or, try another cable or another USB port.

With the sdr unplugged, reinstall SDRUno, plug the cable in when instructed to by the installer.

SDRPLay API Service is running
I updated my USB driver. Did not help. Then I reinstalled SDRUno now I get the error message "SDR uno Main 0 List Index out of bounds (1) :(

I have no idea what that error is in reference to. I suggest filing a support ticket with SDRPlay Tech Support, perhaps they can offer some suggestions. You might want to try Windows 10's Memory Test just to be sure. It takes a little while to run depending on how much RAM must be checked.
