Proposed upgrades to RSP1 no cancelled ??
As a recent purchaser of a new RSP1 I'm concerned that, with the release of the RSP2, the enhancements we have been hoping for E.g. metal case and additional filtering will vanish in the excitement.

Yes I feel the same.
225 to 425 is not really usable even with external bandpass filters fitted due to images.

Hm, I would say most of the wishes for the RSP 1 have been recognized and the result is the RSP2.
Only thing I don't like with the RSP2 is the high impedance antenna input for VLF and LF. I am using an active antenna there which has a 50 Ohms output.

So the recent buyers of the RSP1 have funded the RSP2.Due to limitations of the hardware the RSP1 can't be upgraded as the RF performance is limited by the hardware filters ? I wouldn't say that. If you've recently bought the RSP1, then you have a decent receiver and you can get the new model when you feel like it. As a ham you can't be serious. Ham gear, especially transceivers, have gone this route for quite some time. This is the natural course of technology and product development and isn't about to change. If you are serious, then I imagine you're quite exercised with Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, FlexRadio, and /or Apache Labs. The same goes for RFspace, Afedri, Quick Silver Labs, etc. Companies in this space either move forward or become extinct (witness Ten Tec). Finally, for price per features and performance the RSP1 is a very decent piece of gear that remains attractive and useful. Yes I accept the replys here.The problem I suppose is being spoilt & comparing the 2 SDR's I have, 1 7 years old & 1 14 years old that knock spots off the domestic offerings.Even so I do enjoy RSP1 & find the 10 mhz wide spectrum display useful, in parts of the specturum that are useable.Lets wait & see what the next 6 months brings.From the spec the RSP2 is a step in the right direction.Harry wrote:As a ham you can't be serious. You need a sharp low pass filter - cutting off just below the MW band. This might be of interest225 to 425 is not really usable even with external bandpass filters fitted due to images.

OK - it seems 225-425 kHz is also of interest to quite a few people - hence why there is a published circuit.
