Here’s the code you need to build SoapySDR and SoapySDRPlay on Linux/x86…

Note: this code assumes that you have a Dev directory in your home account and will remove any existing SoapySDR and SoapySDRPlay directories you may have within it. If you do not have a Dev directory, create one using mkdir ~/Dev
Build SoapySDR…
cd ~/Dev
sudo rm -rf SoapySDR
git clone https://github.com/pothosware/SoapySDR.git
cd SoapySDR
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
make
sudo make install
sudo ldconfig

Build SoapySDRPlay…
cd ~/Dev
sudo rm -rf SoapySDRPlay
git clone https://github.com/pothosware/SoapySDRPlay.git
cd SoapySDRPlay
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
sudo make install
sudo ldconfig

To check the SoapySDR installation, type the following into a terminal window:

SoapySDRUtil -info
and also
SoapySDRUtil --probe=sdrplay
