Those of you who have been following SDRplay over the years may remember our encouragement for people to innovate around creating stand-alone SDR receivers with integrated computer and screen. As long ago as 2019, we demonstrated such a device by embedding an RSP1A inside a Raspberry Pi based Pi-Top laptop computer. This was the article: https://www.sdrplay.com/a-self-contained-laptop-sdr-receiver-using-an-rsp1a/

We have also demonstrated compact designs at various shows over the years using integrated Rapsberry Pi with 7 inch display and even with a mini PC:

Cheap Russian and Chinese all-in-one SDRs have emerged providing a partial solution, albeit with some significant performance and reliability limitations.
More recently, we introduced the new networked SDR, nRSP-ST which integrates a host computer to provide a truly plug-and-play personal remote-access SDR receiver. For this your remote computer can be anything from a Mac, a PC, a tablet or even a phone.
But here’s another new option – Tech Minds have just brought out a new YouTube video giving step by step instructions on how to create a compact radio using a PiHPSDR together with an SDRplay RSPdx…. so many choices 🙂 ………………………
