The SDRplay RSPdx-R2 is a single-tuner wideband full featured 14-bit SDR which covers the entire RF spectrum from 1kHz to 2GHz giving up to 10MHz of spectrum visibility.
It contains three antenna ports, two of which use SMA connectors and operate across the full 1 kHz to 2 GHz range and the third uses a BNC connector which operates up to 200MHz.
Housed in a strong steel case, in addition to the functionality of the RSP1B, the RSPdx-R2 provides three software selectable antenna inputs and an external clock input. This saves constant re-connecting different antennas for different frequency choices especially for widely separated bands such as HF and VHF.
The RSPdx-R2 offers excellent performance through HF and VHF frequencies all the way up to 2GHz. The RSPdx-R2 also supports an “HDR mode” optimised for the demanding radio reception conditions below 2MHz. HDR mode delivers improved intermodulation performance and fewer spurious responses for those challenging low frequencies.
The companion SDRuno and SDRconnect SDR software provides all the popular ham bands and shortwave broadcast bands as “presets” which mimic the band buttons of a traditional amateur radio receiver. Likewise, there are the familiar demodulator buttons for AM, FM, CW, USB, LSB etc. This focus on “ease of use” makes it ideal for anyone returning to the hobby after a long time!
