RadCom review of the SDRplay nRSP-ST

The February 2025 edition of the Radio Society of Great Britain’s monthly magazine RadCom featured a review of the nRSP-ST by Steve Nichols.

Steve tests the nRSP-ST and comments that “it marries a high performance SDR receiver with a built in computer to give fully-networked access to the receiver” and goes on to say “the nRSP-ST is a novel device which enables you to monitor the bands while sitting in your lounge as well as from anywhere else”.  Click on the picture to download the full article

An all-in-one radio using an SDRplay RSPdx

Those of you who have been following SDRplay over the years may remember our encouragement for people to innovate around creating stand-alone SDR receivers with integrated computer and screen.  As long ago as 2019, we demonstrated such a device by embedding an RSP1A inside a Raspberry Pi based Pi-Top laptop computer. Cheap Russian and Chinese all-in-one SDRs have emerged providing a partial solution, albeit with some significant performance and reliability limitations.

More recently, we introduced the new networked SDR, nRSP-ST which integrates a host computer to provide a truly plug-and-play personal remote-access SDR receiver. For this your remote computer can be anything from a Mac, a PC, a tablet or even a phone.

Latest on the nRSP-ST networked receiver

We have sold all of the first production run of the nRSP-ST networked receiver – our channel partners and resellers took all that we made first time round – so much so, that we were unable to sell any units directly from our website. (latest news – February 16th update  We aim to ship to most resellers so that they have stock on their shelves by February 24th.

It’s important to contact your preferred reseller to let them know of your interest so that they don’t sell out from this new batch of units.
